Description:

Insurance Company located on the East Coast (US) needs an Individual Life Valuation Actuary. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining quality control on actuarial modeling work including Embedded Values, Cash Flow testing and Deal Models for XXX transactions and provide actuarial support and input to capital management initiatives. Specifically, the role will entail: ensuring that Embedded Values are prepared in a timely manner in accord with the specified principles, working with the Finance and Valuation department to ensure that variances (ie actual to model, actual to Triton and model to Triton) in short term statutory projections are fully understood, working with the Tax Department on projections of taxable income, ensuring that all of the work necessary for the Chief Actuary to attest to the adequacy of reserves and demonstrations of compliance with model regs 815 and 830, are performed in an accurate and timely manner, preparation of the Actuarial Memorandums and report on X factor/preferred valuation mortality, performing annual review of assumptions used in embedded value reporting and cash flow testing, documenting findings and recommendations, maintaining deal models for XXX transactions and ensuring that the deal model projections suitably reflect the terms of the transactions and the economic environment, performing one-off projects and assignments as required (This is a very significant part of the job and quite wide ranging (i.e. could include projects on Triple X solutions, capital planning, input to tax strategy, investment strategy etc.) and overseeing the development of staff in the Corporate Actuarial section. The incumbent will manage up to 6 staff members including 2 Senior Actuarial Associates.
Candidates should have the following experience: significant insurance/actuarial experience, value added reporting (preferably in accordance with EEV and MCEV), cash flow testing on individual life (term and UL), stochastic modeling, capital markets transactions and financial reinsurance (preferably), life insurance valuation on individual life term & UL, Statutory, Tax and GAAP (preferably), actuarial software and spreadsheet capabilities and strong supervisory skills.
