Description:

Immediate opening for a Healthcare Data Analyst to be responsible for analyzing Fund data. This will involve preparation of routine and ad-hoc reports to assist the Fund to better understand the cost and utilization of health care services provided under the Fund’s benefit plans. This position will be the key decision support resource for Fund executives and managers responsible for the Fund’s operations. The Fund covers 27,000 lives. The role involves assisting with specification of report parameters as well as programming reports and providing narrative descriptions of their conclusions. Ideal candidates should possess a full range of data management, analysis and informatics skills obtained through a minimum 3 years experience in a managed care / benefit plan administration environment which provided progressive opportunities analyzing and reporting statistics, trends and utilization of health care data. Demonstrated experience retrieving data from relational data base systems and creating summary results required, preferably utilizing SAS and/or SQL. Must have an understanding of industry medical coding (revenue codes, ICD 9 classifications, CPT codes, etc.). Financial modeling and/or decision support experience a plus. Extensive experience with using the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel’s advanced features. Familiarity with claims data systems, e.g., RIMS, is a plus.
